What we do
Merantix Momentum is a Berlin-based AI startup focusing on accelerating AI adoption across many industries through B2B solutions, as well as publicly funded research projects. We work across several domains, including manufacturing, healthcare, the German public sector, and many more, transforming businesses as an external machine learning department. We achieve this using our core expertise in state-of-the-art machine learning combined with our culture of rapid iterations to build scalable solutions.
The Solutions Architect (AI for Manufacturing) role is a unique opportunity to shape the future of industrial AI by bridging cutting-edge machine learning with real-world manufacturing challenges. You’ll design and deliver end-to-end AI solutions across the industrial value chain, act as a strategic advisor to clients, and translate complex operational needs into scalable, production-ready systems. Combining technical leadership, domain expertise, and strong client engagement, this role sits at the intersection of innovation and execution, driving digital transformation in one of the most impactful sectors of the economy.
Your profile
You’re a confident, technically fluent professional who thrives at the intersection of industrial operations, AI/ML, and enterprise IT. With hands-on experience in manufacturing environments, you know how to translate complex operational challenges into data- and AI-driven solutions that deliver real business value.
You bring deep domain expertise combined with strong communication skills, and you’re comfortable navigating both technical discussions and strategic conversations – whether on the shop floor or in the boardroom.
You would be a great fit if you have:
A degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with solid exposure to AI/ML and data systems
Practical experience with industrial operations and manufacturing processes, including OT/IT integration and systems such as MES, SCADA, PLCs, and IoT platforms
A strong understanding of data and cloud architectures, and – ideally – hands-on experience building AI/ML systems using platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
Deep understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and approaches, along with familiarity with data engineering best practices and tools used in production environments (e.g. Databricks)
Experience integrating industrial data into AI pipelines while aligning solutions with operational constraints
Proficiency in process mapping and requirements engineering, with familiarity in methodologies such as BPMN, SIPOC, or User Story Mapping
A strong consulting presence: you’re value-driven, persuasive, and skilled at framing AI opportunities during discovery and pre-sales conversations
Experience managing diverse stakeholders and driving alignment to enable AI adoption and digital transformation in industrial settings
Fluency in both German and English
